WOW were to start, Firstly this was my BEST Arisia in years. Despite the presence of "He who is Egad"...bMy weekend was great. Let us proceed by day shall we?
Friday Afternoon-Evening: I arrive via CT2 Bus thanks to my Father dropping me at Sullivan Station. Wonderful plan that it took out the cost of Commuter Rail Train and Subway train (total of nerly nine dollars) from the equation. Wich i was able to give to my Friends Mike and Jim for my space in their room. I owe Caser and Mike a great deal of thanks for the weekend, their compasion andfrienship has always beena great rock for me since Meeting them years ago. Thanks Guys. I saw Badger, Todd, Tracey, Bane, Shane, Chris and Christine (Incubus and Succubus) of Griffin Armory (two fo the best people never mind two of the best vendors in Arisia EVER), Pan (love ya kid), Julie(always a pleasure hon), and many more. My first Panel of the Weekend was great and I was the Moderater, Cylons & Religion. I think Next Year we will want to do something similar. The panel was intense and exciting, with lots of good and reasonable attendees who presented us on the panel with thoughtful and considered questions and points. There wer ePartiesof course in the evening Come to Hell, Many of the con parties representing various cons such as Boskone, Icon and WorldCon. and of coruse in 1032 Pope Lascivious II holding his Holy Court with his Capt. of the Royal Hyborean Guard (myself) and his Emminence Cardinal Michael. We had a great time.
Saturday Day-Afternoon: I got up around 9 am, and ate breakfast with some of my fellow program Participiants in the Green Room run by Josh & the Lovely Rose Fox. Meanderedabout barefoot (my bootshad cuased a near-blister on theside of my big toe, temporary but it stung like hell for a few hours while it subsided), I watched soem children learn to use boffers, I spoke to the folks from The Realms LARP and sicovered that Amber would be allowed to not only Attend but to PLAY...they have child specific stuff that happens even modules. My Panel that evening was EXTRAORDINARY we had nothing but STANDING ROOM ONLY People were cramming intoa an extra hot andstuffy room to myself and my 3 co-panelists speak about Steampunk & Cyberpunk.
Saturday Evening: THE PARTIES! WOW...they simply rocked..Our party up in 1032 with Jim, Mike and many others. We were forced to check Ids this year, to prove the point when my sister and Gayle arrived I checked their ID just as I had doen everyone else. Only a few problems ever came up. Jim Mike and I shut down around 6:30 am...
Sunday morning: My panel was at 10 am, I was able to wolf down a few hard boiled eggs and a cup of OJ on my way down the hall from the Green Room, I was still in time though.This panel was 10 years of Stargate SG-1, It was agian a very exciting paenl and I hope next year we can do another. My co-panelist were wonderful ladies and very intelligent and enial I had been on my first panel with one of them already this weekend and we worked wel ltogether I feel. My second Panel was hard to get to in time since I had to aid jim and Mike in cleaning up before we checked out and i had to drop my bag and coat at coat check. But I got there in relatively ok amount of timeand the Gods and Monsters in comics panel went over ith a full room, great crowd and awesome co-panelists. Defiantly one to go for again nexzt year. We had a girl dressed up as Death of the Endless in vertigo comics she was awesome, so true ot the form that at the end when we panelsits were asked by the moderator for our last comments i said "Well I would like ot Death of the Endless for attneding our Panel and not taking any of us with her at the End.." everyone felt this was great and I got a round of applaudse as did she for her costume and makeup job.

I just saw the trailer for Ironman with robert Downey jr. this was mostly showing him as Tony. I had doubts. I had misgivings but NO LONGER! He is TONY STARK! As Hugh Jackamn was perfect for Wolverine, Christopher Reeves was Superman, And Patrick Stuart and Sir Ian McKellen was perfect for Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively, ...Robert Downey is Tony Stark...It is...my god...just go to the Ironman site

I was blown away, I've spent the last 3 and half decades wadign the mire and muck they called Superhero movies, X-men and the recent Spider man movies were bright spots, I enjoyed Daredevil and Elektra for the actors and somewhat the awesome action effects. But even with the X-men and spiderman flicks I had serious disapointments on many levels.

This is a good sign for what is coming in 7 months.

But the new bond flick certainly isn't...though i do still believe I'd have rather have gone to the Isles event. But my rides all bottomed out, I hope they had a good time. The new Bond movie is the best by far since the sixties....and he is the BEST James Bond ever...and this is froma hard core Sean Connery fan....this stuff is so much like the book, no fancy gizmos or gadgets just good ole nerve, aim and style. GOD IT WAS AWESOME.

So amber started her new Pre-K on tuesday, today wil lbe the first day without me however. wow....she's geting bigger..She went in to the room and just sat down and forgot i exist, later when she saw me in the room she came up with her hands on hips and said to me "Dadddddy you're not supposed to be here , go home NOW! this is my place" i felt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goofy...every one of the other parents got a good laugh out of it, but the other parents are a lot of nice people. more on this later.
